ARTIST PROFILE:
As a geology student at Washington University in St. Louis, Patricia Fay DuBois began designing jewelry to offset the cost of her education. While in the geology graduate program at the University of Texas, Dallas she found herself in the unique position to incorporate rare materials into one-of-a-kind jewelry. Today her striking creations of semi-precious stones alone or combined with hammered metal, are exhibited and sold under the name of DuBois Studios'. Her jewelry is currently carried by Galleries and Stores in Missouri, Texas, and Louisiana.
ARTIST STATEMENT:
After obtaining a Masters degree in Geology from UTD, DuBois Studios’ began to grow. My admiration and love for rocks, minerals and the environments they represent is now channeled into jewelry design and crafting. My background allows me the privilege of uncovering many of nature’s hidden treasures first-hand. As a geologist, finding, cutting and incorporating unusual rocks and minerals into my clasp and pendants is the highlight of my work.
